1 - Employment Assistance and Basic Life Necessities
 
  • ARRA Funding: $873,888.
  • Allocated to Santa Barbara County via a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).
  • Services are provided by CAC and 15 other non-profit agencies in the county.
  • Agencies provide employment readiness, legal aid, HIV care, child abuse prevention, and basic life necessities such as food and shelter.
   
2 - Weatherization
  • ARRA Funding: $1,760,163
  • Goal is to weatherize 1000 homes.
  • This program increases the energy efficiency of homes owned or occupied by low-income families, reduces the amount these families spend on energy , and improves their health and safety.
 
3 - Head Start
 
  • ARRA Funding: $614,290
  • Adds two additional weeks of Head Start services for over 300 lowincome families in Santa Barbara county.
   
4- Senior Nutrition
 
  • ARRA Funding: $173,348
  • Funding is provided by the Department of Health and Human Services Area Agency on Aging.
  • Increases the number of seniors served in the county by funding two new sites, one in Santa Maria and one in Santa Barbara, and by providing additional mobile meals.
