American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Funds

1 - Employment Assistance and Basic Life Necessities
	ARRA Funding: $873,888. Allocated to Santa Barbara County via a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). Services are provided by CAC and 15 other non-profit agencies in the county. Agencies provide employment readiness, legal aid, HIV care, child abuse prevention, and basic life necessities such as food and shelter.
2 - Weatherization
	ARRA Funding: $1,760,163 Goal is to weatherize 1000 homes. This program increases the energy efficiency of homes owned or occupied by low-income families, reduces the amount these families spend on energy , and improves their health and safety.
3 - Head Start
	ARRA Funding: $614,290 Adds two additional weeks of Head Start services for over 300 lowincome families in Santa Barbara county.
4- Senior Nutrition
	ARRA Funding: $173,348 Funding is provided by the Department of Health and Human Services Area Agency on Aging. Increases the number of seniors served in the county by funding two new sites, one in Santa Maria and one in Santa Barbara, and by providing additional mobile meals.
